THE BIG BANG - A LOGICAL ANSWER TO SINGULARITY

THE BIG BANG - A LOGICAL ANSWER TO SINGULARITY Video Clips. Duration : 2.08 Mins.

Since Edwin Hubble discovered that the universe is expanding at an accelerated rate, scientist and astronomers had been scratching their heads and asking why. Could scientist discover why the universe is expanding by observing nature? Could it be because the stars are feeding on dark energy and reproducing like grapes on a vine as they expand out over this mass of dark energy much like a vineyard feeds upon energy rich soil as it expands out over its field of soil? Now at first that may sound farfetched or ridiculous to you but many of man's greatest discoveries have come from observing nature. Take for example Isaac Newton; while walking in his gardens, he had the first thought of his system of gravitation, upon seeing an apple falling from a tree. Consider this FOOD FOR THOUGHT: As you know the universe is believed to be mostly composed of dark energy and dark matter. Less than 5% of the universe is ordinary matter (Stars and Planets). Suppose for a moment that this dark energy were mineral rich soil. Now lets say you planted a single grape seed in the middle of this field of soil (universe of dark energy), then went away for 1 billion years. What would you discover when you returned? You would find that the grape seed had germinated as it fed upon the rich soil and eventually produced clusters of grapes that fell to the ground and in turn germinated and grew into additional grape clusters and the process continued over and over until that single grape seed had turned ...

Carl Sagan's: Cosmos Part 8 - Travels in space and time

Carl Sagan's: Cosmos Part 8 - Travels in space and time Tube. Duration : 61.60 Mins.

Ideas about time and space are explored in the changes that constellations undergo over time, the redshift and blue shift measured in interstellar objects, time dilation in Albert Einstein's theory of relativity, the designs of both Leonardo da Vinci and spacecraft that could travel near light speed, time travel and its hypothetical effects on human history, the origins of the Solar System, the history of life, and the immensity of space. In Cosmos Update, the idea of faster-than-light travel by wormholes (researched by Kip Thorne and shown in Sagan's novel Contact) is discussed. Death Stars, Weird Galaxies, and a Quasar-Spangled Universe: The Discoveries of the Very Large Array Telescope Overview

In 1931, Karl Jansky was hired by AT&T to search for sources of static that might interfere with radio waves for transatlantic communications. Jansky identified static from thunderstorms and random radio noise from devices on Earth, but he also found a radio hiss from the Milky Way galaxy.

After World War II, astronomers constructed more radio telescopes with greater sensitivity to faint radio signals from space. In the 1970s, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory built the Very Large Array (VLA) radio telescope, on the plains of San Agustin, New Mexico. The VLA is well equipped to hunt for strange objects and solve astronomical mysteries.

The VLA receives radio signals from outer space. Most are so faint, a blastingly strong signal would be a cell phone ringing on the moon, 238,900 miles away from Earth. The VLA has shown ice on the burning-hot planet of Mercury, has discovered a burst of brand-new star formations, and has probed dying and exploding stars.

Karen Taschek introduces young readers to the wonders revealed by the VLA. She begins with basic information on our solar system and our own Milky Way galaxy and then extends the discussion to galaxies billions of light-years from Earth.

Are there Parallel Universes?

Are there Parallel Universes? Tube. Duration : 43.22 Mins.

watchconlines.blogspot.com We could all be living multiple parallel lives, because as scientists explore the outer reaches of physics and the cosmos, they're beginning to believe that parallel universes do exist and that they might determine the fate of humanity. The word "Universe" is supposed to mean everything that exists. Today, we're almost certain that our Universe is not all there is. There really could be parallel Earths, parallel you's, and parallel me's. It's hard not to wonder what our alter egos might be like, whether they are living out our most cherished dreams. But don't forget this possibility you could already be living the dream of another you from a parallel universe.

The galaxy contains two clearly-defined spiral arms and is therefore used as an archetypal example of a Grand Design Spiral Galaxy. The galaxy's low surface brightness makes it the most difficult Messier object for amateur astronomers to observe. However, the relatively large angular size of the galaxy and the galaxy's face-on orientation make it an ideal object for professional astronomers who want to study spiral arm structure and spiral density waves.M74 was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1780. Méchain then communicated his discovery to Charles Messier, who listed the galaxy in his catalog.M74 is the brightest member of the M74 Group, a group of 5-7 galaxies that also includes the peculiar spiral galaxy NGC 660 and a few irregular galaxies.
